Design	A white disc at the centre. It has the National Coat of Arms held by a white and a black man. They are surrounded by fifty mahogany leaves, on a royal blue field. The flag is bordered at top and bottom by two red stripes. The red and blue represent the unity of the people in the country. under the coat of arms there are some words and those words are 'sub umbra floreo' which are in latin. the english translation is 'under the shade i florish'

The flag of Belize comes from the earlier flag of British Honduras. British Honduras is the name of Belize during the time the British ruled.
