Yunnan (simplified Chinese: 云南; traditional Chinese: 雲南; 
listen (info • help)) is a province in southwest province of the People's Republic of China. The area of Yunnan Province is 394,100 km2 (152,200 sq mi). It spans approximately 394,000 square kilometres (152,000 sq mi) and has a population of 45.7 million (2009). The capital of the province is Kunming. The province borders Vietnam, Laos and Burma.
