Rhodesia (/roʊˈdiːʒə/, /roʊˈdiːʃə/), officially from 1970 the Republic of Rhodesia, was a republic in Southern Africa during the Cold War. It was the region that is now called Zimbabwe. The country replaced the British colony of Southern Rhodesia.
