Mbabane is the capital city of the African country of Eswatini. It is on the Mbabane River and the Polinjane River in the Mdimba Mountains. The city is in the district of Hhohho and is also the district capital. The city has an estimated population of 70,000 people.
The town grew after the country's administrative centre moved there from Manzini in 1902. It is also the commercial center for the surrounding region. Tin and iron are mined nearby.
