Euro since 1 Jan 1999 virtual, since 1 Jan 2002 real currency; before: Austrian Schilling. The .eu domain is also used, as it is shared with other European Union member states.

Austria (German: Österreich; officially called Republic of Austria), is a country in Central Europe. Austria has been a member-state of the EU since 1995.

The people in Austria speak German, a few also Hungarian, Slovenian and Croatian. The capital of Austria is Vienna (Wien).
