The Scimitar oryx or Scimitar horned oryx (oryx dammah) is a species of oryx that is extinct in the wild. They can be seen in zoos, wildlife parks and reserves. They used to live all over north Africa. A baby scimitar oryx is called a calf. Both male and female scimitar horned oryx have long curved horns. They are herbivores and are diurnal.
